Did you hear the news? Facebook Live is available to everyone as of today. I just did a video about how to start using Facebook Live on your phone. I thought with this video that I should also give you a few tips and best practices for using Facebook Live For Business.

First let’s start with how to get on to Facebook Live on your phone.

8 Tips For Using Facebook Live 

1. Give Your Fans A Heads Up When You Are Going Live Build anticipation and give them a chance to get on by letting your fans know when you’ll be broadcasting live.

2. Give Your Viewers a Call to Action Ask Them To Subscribe Ask your engaged fans can tap on the subscribe button on live videos and videos that were live to get notifications the next time you go live.

3. Create Attention Getting Description Before Going Live A great description will capture people’s attention and help them understand what your broadcast is about.

4. Make Sure You Have A Good Connection Check the app to make sure that you have a strong signal before going live. If your signal is weak, the ‘Go Live’ button will be grayed out. Try to find a location where you’re on wifi or have at least a 4G connection.

5. If you lose connection while live, find a place with better signal If you lose connection while live, don’t panic! Go to a place with better signal and your app will automatically try to re-connect. If you are unable to re-connect, your existing broadcast will still be saved to your Page. Think about whether you want to delete it before starting a new broadcast.

6. Greet Your Fans By Calling Out Their Name & Answer Questions Your fans will be amazed to hear you mention their name, everyone loves the sound of their own name. Also use their name when answering their questions when you are live. Engage and ask them to type in a question for you to answer. Or you can ask them poll type questions and have them type in an answer.

7. Broadcast For A Longer Time Frame The longer you broadcast the chances are more people will see your live and join on in. They will also have a chance to share your video with their friends on Facebook. I recommend that you go live for at least 5 minutes and we’ve seen some public figures broadcast for over an hour.

8. Be Creative and Go Live Often! Try different types of broadcasts – and go live frequently – to keep fans engaged. Let me know who are your favorite people to watch go LIVE?

I know bad parenting. Well you know I don't know everything. The 2nd thing someone might do is use the 2nd most popular search site which is also owned by Google, "YouTube". As I mentioned in my last post here. In doing some research I found a few statistics for you... Having video on your website makes it 53 times more likely to show up on Google Video causes people to stay longer on your site by an average of 2 minutes Video is shared 1,200% more than photos and texts combined Emails with videos get 50% more clicks compared to emails without video I hope this gives you an idea of how you can rank your videos. If not I am going to spell it out for you right now. How To Rank YouTube Videos on Google Create a Title that has "Keywords" that people are searching for In your video say the title or keyword you want to rank for in your video at the beginning and through out the video. Not too much but clearly state what the video is about and of course at the end of the video. Google can hear you! haha. The words you say in the video can be found behind the scenes and then used when people search. Transcribe your video to help the search engines hear what you said in your video from step 2 you can give it a boost by transcribing your video and submitting it before you upload your video to YouTube. In the Description make sure to include the Title of your video with your "keywords". Start of the description to a link to your website or capture page. Include a a few sentences about the video. You have about 5,000 characters in the description area so make use of it. If possible I basically take the transcription or summary of my video and include it in the description. Tags make sure to add tags that are related to your video Before you upload the video make sure to Title the file of your video with the keyword you are ranking for. Share your YouTube through out all of your social media platforms. The more likes, shares, and comments you have the more likely you will rank faster. Embed your video on your website. This will help rank your website and the video faster as well. Don't forget to email your video to your list to get more views. Again more views, more likes, shares and embeds the better! It means anytime you use your associated website in your annotations or cards it is the only website that it will allow you to link to. What you will need is google analytics. You must be an admin of that website and have google analytics set up. If you don't already have google analytics setup you need to do that first. Once you have google analytics set up then you can go to channel, video manager, channel section, advanced, scroll down to the middle of the page to associate website. Enter your associate website. It will now say pending. Under that it will ask you to verify your site. It will take you to google webmaster. It will give you several options to verify your website. Most of them seem complicated even for me. Go to more recommended ways and pick google analytics. If you are all setup like I am you should now be able to just click verify it will check if your email is connected as an admin for that website in google analytics. Then bam! Your associate website should be all set up. Go back to youtube and check it should now say SUCCESS. I have an iPhone5 and it is great to be able to record the actual screen of my phone to do tutorials. I love sharing new apps and help my friends and clients how to use their phone more efficiently in order to market their business. What you will need to do is have quick time player. I am using a MacBook Pro. Open up Quick Time Player and then go to file new Movie Recording. The right next to the record button on the bottom hit the carrot sign pointing down to check the settings. Make sure the settings are on your camera of your iphone or else it will not be showing your phone right now. Also check to see if your audio is on if you want to record your voice over the actions on your phone. Or you can change it so that the audio will come from the actions on your phone.
